FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Below are a few good-to-know snippets, if you have any other questions about our work, products or ordering then head over to the contact page and send us a question. We will be happy to help.

  • Jewellery Care

Some jewellery will tarnish over time, as is the nature of the metal it is made from. Regular cleaning will remove the tarnish; this can be done with a silver polishing cloth or other silver cleaner.

When not being worn, jewellery should be stored in an airtight container to slow down the tarnishing process (jewellery containing pearls or opals should be stored in a fabric bag to protect the stone).

Tarnish is not harmful and is a natural oxidisation process.

  • Shipping

Everything in the shop is handmade to order and is usually dispatched within 3 working days.

There are a few exceptions to this (eggcup, teething rings and hospital bracelet plaque) which take longer to create.

All orders are shipped Royal Mail Signed For 1st Class for speed and peace of mind. Items should arrive within 1 - 2 working days from dispatch.

If you require items to be sent quickly or special delivery this is usually not a problem if the item is in stock, but do send me an email and let me know, I will do my best to accommodate (there will be an additional charge).

  • Packaging

All jewellery is presented in a white, recyclable and plastic free box. All ready to give as a gift (or keep for yourself!)

Our postal packaging is plastic free for almost all our products (I'm working on the rest!), using cardboard letterbox friendly boxes and paper tape.

There is no branding on the outside of the postal packaging to ensure discreet delivery, perfect for gift-giving.

  • Process

Everything in the shop is individually handmade using traditional silversmithing techniques.

This means that you receive a truly unique, stronger and more durable piece than if they were mass produced.

Processes such as hand raising, planishing and burnishing take an appreciable amount of time and therefore result in a better quality finished product.

  • Payment

We use PayPal for orders through our website as it provides an added level of security for everybody involved. If you would prefer to order directly, just send me an email and I will be happy to oblige.

  • Returns

We do accept returns with the exception of bespoke items (sized rings, splint rings, engraved or personalised items).

We are always happy to have rings back for resizing or for exchange, as it is often difficult to size a ring without trying it on.

  • Hallmarking

Hallmarking is a legal requirement for all precious metal items over a certain weight. As such, all items requiring a hallmark will have one applied before sale.

If you would like a smaller item hallmarked then I would be happy to oblige, just send me an email before ordering (please note there may be an additional charge and/or a longer processing time).
